1:45-2:30 “Adding Hardscapes to Your Garden: Water Features, Ponds, Pathways, Firepits, and More” Workshop by DJ Giles. Giles created the water feature “Moses Rock,” which commemorates the 125th anniversary of the Monteagle Sunday School Assembly, and the long flowing “waterfall” at Longway Inn, both on the 2009 garden tour. Giles will show slides of features he has designed that can enhance any garden. He resides on Lookout Mountain, but has numerous clients in the Sewanee area.
2:45-3:30 Herb Garden Design Workshop. Join ECO-SAS students in a mini-course to create a plan for an herb garden. Students will explain the process used to plan and plant the SAS Herb Garden, including color choices, hardiness, height considerations, and bed preparation. Bring the size of your patch or start from scratch.
